Arch Street road closure plans

NOTICE is hereby given that the Staffordshire County Council on 26 May 2020 made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in that length of Arch Street in Rugeley from a point approximately 14 metres north west of the railway bridge to its junction with Town Wharf unless the vehicle is being used in connection with the works. Access for emergency services will be maintained if/when necessary. Pedestrians will be marshalled if necessary. Frontages will not be affected as the works are to be conducted on the rail bridge only.
An alternative route for traffic is available via Arch Street, A513 Armitage Road, A460 Brereton Road, A460 Horse Fair, St Pauls Road, Lichfield Street, Talbot Street. For more information, visit: https://one.network/?tm=116919341.
The order will come into operation on 2 June 2020 and the said works which will take place nightly between the hours of 21:30 and 06:00 will commence on or as near as practicable to that date. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by 4 June 2020.
The Order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, or until the vegetation and tree removal works, which it is proposed to carry out on or near the road have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
