How to get involved in Rugeley

Rugeley Town Council is happy to support the Cannock Chase CAN App as a way of encouraging local residents to explore the local countryside, learn more about local history and get involved in local activities through volunteering.

Energy Arts Project - Tower Trail

In 2021, local Year 4 pupils were asked to submit drawings of what was important to them about living in Rugeley.  Artist, Kirsten Jesson, took these ideas and developed them to create 8 detailed cooling towers, each standing 1m high and made from recycled wood pulp and sugar beet.  Other towers were given to the Hart School and to a youth project in Brereton for their completion.  These towers are now placed at various locations around the district.  You can download the Tower Trail Leaflet here or pick one up from one of the tower locations.  When you see a tower, click on the QR codes on the information boards and find out more about the artwork on each tower.

Where are the towers located?

It is lovely that so many partners wanted to host our beautiful cooling towers.  The towers will be in location for approx 12 months - after that time it is hoped that we auction off the towers for people to take them home.  For the time being, here is where you can find them:
