Gnosall Young Driver Event

This is a free event aimed at young people aged 16-21 who are thinking about learning to drive, are already learning to drive and those who are new to driving. This event has been put together by Gnosall Parish Council and Staffordshire County Council to help young drivers in Gnosall and the surrounding villages to ensure drivers do all they can to remain safe when driving. Learning to understand the local roads, control speed and how to drive in different weather conditions and much more will be covered.

Programme

· Speed management

· Driving on higher speed rural roads including A518

· Driving in challenging light and weather conditions

· Road Safety – seatbelts, managing distractions (phones, friends & music)

· Impairment (alcohol, drugs & fatigue)

· What to do in an emergency to protect yourself and others

· Vehicle Maintenance (basic car checks, improving your safety)

Presentations delivered by a local driving instructor, Road Safety Officers and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue

There will be lots of opportunity for discussion and questions including private conversations for those who do not want to talk in front of others.

Refreshments will be provided.
